About Us

Debora Ferrari Haines holds an M.A. in Spanish Translation Studies from The University of Manchester (Dissertation: Translating Linguistic Variation: An Analysis Applied to Alice Munro's 'Images' ); a B.A. in Spanish Legal Translation from the Universidad del Museo Social Argentino; and another B.A. in English Literature from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

She is an experienced translator and teacher, and has taught foreign languages to adults to all levels for many years, in the UK, Buenos Aires and New York.

Since moving to the UK, she has worked as Editor in Educational Publishing, and for the last few years, besides teaching, she has concentrated on running and assessing Spanish language courses.

Our Spanish Teachers

Pedro is originally from Barcelona, Spain, but grew up in Seville. He qualified as a teacher of English and Spanish at the University of Seville. Since moving to Cambridge he has taught Spanish at different levels, mostly in the Adult Education sector and he is also a Tutor at The Open University. He is currently Coordinator and Teacher of Spanish at the Language Centre of the University of Cambridge.

Antonio is a native Spanish speaker from Madrid, where he obtained his first degree. He holds a Certificado de Aptitud Pedagógica (Postgraduate Certificate in Education - PGCE) from Alcalá University, Madrid; and a Master of Arts in International Business from Anglia Ruskin University. He also has a Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults from International House, Madrid. His teaching experience is wide-ranging and includes teaching adults at different levels, as well as teaching children at primary schools in Cambridge.

Ana is from Logroño, La Rioja, in Spain. Trained by the International House in Barcelona, Spain, where she obtained her teaching certificate. Ana also has a Masters' Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. For many years she has been working in Adult Education and for the last few years she has concentrated on producing materials for Spanish courses.

María is a native Spanish speaker from Salamanca, Spain, where she obtained her first degree. She also holds a Certificate in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from Goldsmith College, University of London, and from the Instituto Cervantes. She has been working in Adult Education for several years and has experience teaching Spanish to children and adults at all levels.

All our venues are located in central Cambridge and are equipped with video, internet and audio-visual equipment.

We are here to help you every step of the way. From the start we will make sure that you are placed in the most suitable class by arranging a free Spanish Assessment Test. We will also determine your priorities for learning Spanish to make sure that you are placed in the right course. Throughout your Spanish studies, we will regularly check your progress.
